AMENDMENT XXVIII
Section 1. No law shall exist in the United States which respects an establishment of matrimony, or prohibits the free exercise thereof.
Section 2. No law shall exist in the United States that discriminates against any person on account of their marital status.
Section 3. Any statute of law in violation of Section 1 or Section 2 of this article that existed at the time of its ratification is void.
Section 4. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
