In order to discourage the partisan gridlock currently overtaking Washington, we propose:
1) The elimination of the Electoral College, to be replaced by a simple popular vote.
2) The reformation of the current primary election system. The current system encourages extremes from both parties to emerge as nominees. We propose a top-three primary modeled after the top-two primary system in the state of California. The new primary election will resemble a general election, but with more candidates. The top three candidates, regardless of party, will move on to the general election. This will encourage the nomination of moderates and third-party candidates, and will loosen the two-party grip on our presidential elections.
3) The implementation of term limits for Senators and Representatives.
