Propose a Constitutional Amendment to Set Term Limits for Congress.

I have heard this shared concern from quite a few people actually. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that some members of Congress have been in Congress for 50 years or more. There was a reason that we amended the Constitution to set term limits for Presidents after President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I am a firm believer no matter how good your intentions are the longer you are in a position the more greedy you become. I believe a simple solution would be similar to the term limits for presidents. We could call it the 6x2 rule or the 2x6 rule. A term for a representative is 2 years and a term for a senator is 6. Make a limit of 12 years 6 terms for a representative and 2 terms for a senator. This would keep our Government more accountable to the American public as they should be.
