The Obama Administration should propose a constitutional amendment that would allow for America Citizens to have a more direct/participative democracy model--similar to Switzerland's direct democracy model, and similar to the state law initiative process currently in use in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon and South Dakota. Under this system, Citizens could not only propose federal laws, which would need a certain threshold of signatures on a petition to become a proposed federal law (a system similar to this "We The People" system), but citizens would also be to vote on those proposed federal laws that passed the petition signature threshold.
