Propose drug testing to receive federal benefits

Created by M.T. on November 14, 2012

Currently most Americans that are working for pay at regular jobs are required to pass random drug tests. These working Americans are the ones whose paycheck is taxed to fund the Federal Government which in turn offers various programs to citizens and non-citizens who are not subject to drug testing. These programs include housing subsidies, food stamps, WIC, Medicaid, unemployment, etc. These programs were originally designed as a temporary safety net for Americans during tough times. Requiring drug testing to receive these benefits would insure that the recipients are prepared to re-enter the workforce. We petetion the Administration to propose regulations requiring drug screening to receive Federal benefits.
