Members of Congress have a massive advantage in elections due to recognition and franking privileges, and as a result many go to Washington not looking to improve the nation, but to keep a well-paying job with fantastic benefits. It would benefit the nation for members of Congress to have a limited amount of time in office, as the President does, in order to force them to cooperate and compromise to get anything done. A six-term limit in the House, and a two-term limits in the Senate, for a total of twelve years each, would greatly help the nation as a whole.
