"SECURE YOUR WEAPONS" law:
Real gun law reform that protects the 2nd amendment and promotes responsible gun ownership:
-Require biometric gun safes for gun owners.
-Misdemeanor offense and fine for losing your weapon if it is used in a crime. Steeper penalties for repeat offenders, and revocation of license for subsequent offense.
-Require yearly/bi-yearly re-certification for gun licenses, demonstrating your ownership of biometric safe, gun safety.
It is my opinion that gun violence can be prevented by promoting and enforcing responsible ownership, not by banning the weapons themselves. Requiring that the owner is in control of his or her purchased firearm is a common sense solution that will reduce gun theft accidental use, and use by anyone other than the owner without permission.
