Propose a Compassion Course be standard in Schools, K-12 : "Caring for life: for self, for others, and for environment."

Created by H.V. on March 27, 2015

What is the source of all of societies solutions, and problems? Education, and lack thereof.

The current education system with its over-concentrated focus on "economics" and "accountability," dehumanizes and degrades children, teachers and families in a way that becomes evident in the issues we face on a societal level. There should be more compassion in education.

THERE IS HOPE.

Authors Raine Eisler and Ron Miller originally proposed that we have a class that starts in Pre-K and ends in 12th grade focusing on key themes like conflict resolution, compassion, gratitude, and social skills. It may consist of normal study and reading but also yoga, meditation and other practices. This will help to foster a national "culture of peace."

Let's ask policy makers to make this proposal reality.
