Major Internet advertising companies like Google use invasive technologies to monitor our email and Internet surfing activities. These companies use this information for their own profit and without regard for consumer well-being and safety. Google furthermore has stated in court documents defending its practices that its users have "no legitimate expectation of privacy".
We ask that these practices be restricted so as to ensure that consumer privacy will be respected, and to ensure that advertising networks do not use invasive technologies to track and monitor user activity and private communications on the Internet.
