The current budgetary process is in shambles. We cannot keep raising the debt ceiling and placing Scooby Doo Band-Aids over a sucking chest wound. America has not had a budget in over 1,000 days. Therefore, America is already bankrupt and the government is stealing from its people.
This pattern cannot continue. By sequestering both houses of congress and the presidency, we are forcing the parties to work together. They will have to conduct a through/realistic review of the president's budget, and he will have to be truthful in his requests. The system mandates a return the traditional system of checks and balances.
While sequestered no elected federal officials get paid, nor do they get to leave Washington. Only Constitutionally mandated spending can occur (national defense).
