Many of the country's largest corporations have created large profits outside the US that are amassed overseas. It is time to create a viable means via a no-loophole tax break to bring this money home for direct investment in our country.
This legislation should ensure that questionable accounting measures and shell-game tricks are penalized, and that a large percentage of the funds that are repatriated are directly invested in creating jobs and opportunities here at home in the areas of domestic investment, employment, or research and development. The New York Times recently indicated that "Apple has $12 billion waiting offshore, Google has $17 billion and Microsoft, $29 billion. This petition was created by a citizen concerned with our economy, not a corporate bureaucrat. Thank you.
