As one of your constituents, I am asking that you propose to congress the creation of a bipartisan Policy Research Board, tasked with identifying key and contentious elements of debate which can be tested, and providing clear determinations on these elements through the use of randomized controlled trials and pilot programs designed to test proposed policy decisions.
There is precedent for the positive effects of such an approach (such as the Number 10 Policy Unit in the UK), and the presence of accessible data rendered by a bipartisan entity will make it more difficult for politicians to twist information for partisan reasons. This leads to an environment where debate and tax dollars can both be focused towards achieving the beneficial outcomes we desire and deserve as Americans.
