We need CITIZENS to be our legislators - not professional politicians. For this reason, we need term limits for Congress:
*a maximum of 3 terms, or 6 total years of service in the House of Representatives; and
*a maximum of 1 term, or 6 total years of service, in the Senate.
Much gridlock and delay in our country comes from legislators out of touch with the reality of our world.
By enacting term limits, we ensure that our legislators are engaged in the business of our world -not in politics- and that the laws they enact apply to them when they head back out to earn a living.
Also, limit Congress to meeting no more than 6 months a year, with limited salaries.
Look to Virginia for a model.
