Propose legislation to immediately fire Congress in the event of a government shutdown.

We the people propose new federal legislation that would immediately fire all Senators and Representatives in the event of a government shutdown. Passing a budget and ensuring the continuity of government is the primary responsibility of a functioning Congress. A government shutdown due to lack of appropriations is the result of a complete failure to accomplish their single most important function. We propose in the event of a shutdown, all Congressmen and women would be fired immediately and barred from reelection. The new fiscal year budget will tentatively be set to the same level as the previous year's budget. New elections for Congress would occur one month after the previous Congress was disbanded.
