In the interest of preserving democracy, individuals whose "worth" falls above 1.5 standard deviations above the median income of the country should be disqualified from participation in the political process including, but not limited to, campaign donation, holding Federally appointed positions, acting as a member of the President's Cabinet, and holding or running for political office. This proposal would allow those of us with keen minds and meager resources to more effectively contribute to the country. Under the current system, positions of leadership seem almost exclusively reserved for wealthy and politically extreme individuals by virtue of money alone.
