Propose legislation to make student loan interest FULLY deductible.

Created by S.W. on February 23, 2013

Removing the limit of $2,500 in student loan tax deductions is something that can be done IMMEDIATELY to ease the burden on borrowers. Many borrowers pay more than twice that amount in interest per year and should be able to deduct it FULLY.

It gets worse: In 2013, this deduction is only available for the first five years of repayment! Even those with full time jobs on a rigorous repayment schedule can take 10 years or more to pay off their loans.

Propose legislation to remove the cap and year limit and help out borrowers struggling to gain a financial footing. This is not an ambitious or abstract concept. It can be done immediately.
