Propose legislation making presidential debates and presidential primary debates available to the public.

Presidential primary debates and presidential debates should be available to the American public. It is a dangerous proposition that our citizenry, in order to remain informed about public matters, must have a cable subscription. I request that the President propose legislation to Congress that would require either: (1) free broadcast of such debates on cable networks, or (2) free broadcast of such debates on public access channels.
