The military works until mission completion. No time off, no weekends, no holidays until the job is done.
Congress should be no different.
Having no path forward on the fiscal cliff, Congress departed today for the holidays, abdicating their responsibility to the American people.
This is symptomatic of a larger problem.
It's been years since Congress passed an actual budget.
Request the President introduce legislation requiring that Congress remain in session, and present, until an actual budget is passed. This should become law, with applicable annual timelines, ensuring each fiscal year begins with a real budget, not continuing resolutions, or that congress remains present and in session until such budget is passed. Sessions should continue thru weekends and holidays as required.
