The people must be able to supervise the work of the government. Like any other employee they should be required to keep track of time spent doing the work they are paid for. Time spent fundraising should not be included. They should include time spent in committees, reading legislation, and public meetings with constituents. The National Labor Relations Board v. Noel Canning ruling means congress can be in session but not actually doing any work there. We need a way to keep track of them other than just days in session and event press releases.
