Propose a new amendment to the Contitution that enacts a 10 year sunset clause on all legislation past and future.

Created by G.G. on January 08, 2013

All laws in this country need sunset clauses that will allow them to serve their purpose then fade away. Proposed a new Constitutional Amendment that will put a 10 year limit on ALL laws past, present, and future that will sunset them 10 years from adoption. All enabling legislation of government agencies would be subject to this ammendment as well. The exception would be laws that are specifically mentioned in the Contitution (Military, Treasury, etc.)

All departements not specifically mentioned in the Constitution would be subject to a supermajority vote in House and Senate to be maintained.

If it is important enough to be law then it either important enough to be voted on regularly to maintain it. Or called out in a later Constitutional Amendment.
