Since 2012, state governments like North Carolina have been directly engaging in acts of rebellion against the United States to break away from federal laws, courts, and to persecute minorities such as the LGBT community. I propose a new amendment to the Constitution of the United States to solve this problem.
"Any government official, whether elected, appointed or hired to federal, state or local office, who willfully and intentionally engages in acts of rebellion against the United States or persecutes the Constitutional, civil and human rights of any American citizen, either through legislation or independent action, shall automatically forfeit their seat of power, to be removed from office immediately and permanently, and never again be allowed to run for office, vote, or lobby.
