This petition is aiming at prodding the current administration to take on campaign finance reform as this is undeniably the core issue that has deteriorated our representative system of government. Until this is remedied, other vital reforms will be nearly impossible to achieve. Reform should include, but not be limited to the following: 1) the overturning of the Citizens United decision, 2) limiting financial contributions to $200 per person/corporation/union/etc, 3) the abolition of PACs, super PACs, 4) full immediate disclosure of all contributions to campaigns.
We are hoping to establish a new campaign system that will guarantee a government truly representing the people of this country, not the super-wealthy individuals, corporations, and banks.
