The following policies would effectively reduce gun violence without infringing on Constitutional rights:
- Eliminate the sale of > 10 round magazines and weapons with fixed magazines of > 10 rounds
- Require hunter education training certificates for the purchase of any firearm
- Require classes equivalent to concealed handgun training and criminal and psychiatric background check for the purchase of handguns and assault weapons
- Register all handguns and assault weapons in a national database
- Require assault weapons to be stored and used exclusively in gun clubs, but ban possession of these in the home
- Make no changes to laws for manually operated and low ammo capacity semi-automatic hunting firearms
