Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: Equality of Laws

Created by R.M. on December 28, 2012

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

Background:
Many citizens have no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they do not pay into Social Security, or that they specifically have, and will continue to, exempt themselves from many of the laws they pass that all other citizens must live by (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment). They and the President are exempt from the Health Care Reform. Our politicians must be held accountable.
