SECTION 1.
No person shall be elected to the office of U.S. Senate more than twice. And no person shall, under any circumstances, serve as a U.S. Senator for more than fourteen years.
The primary element of the proposed Constitutional Amendment, this section sets forth the two-term limitation of U.S. Senators. Furthermore, the second clause addresses the issue of vacancies via resignation, impeachment or death. Specifically, a scenario in which someone fills a vacancy in the middle of a term are restricted to serving in the U.S. Senate for no more than fourteen years.
SECTION 2.
This Article shall not affect anyone serving as a U.S. Senator at the time of its ratification.
