The Second Amendment is no longer a meaningful or accurate reflection of the state of the country. With a fully funded and active military, there is no need for an armed militia.
The checks-and-balances of the three branches of Government make it impossible for there to be what would be globally accepted as tyranny; the opinion of a few that any US government is tyrannical cannot be the standard by which "tyranny" is defined.
The number of gun deaths in this country is unacceptable by any civilized standard; the resistance by well-funded groups must never be an impediment to growth.
Thomas Jefferson wrote James Madison in 1787: "I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical." The time for change is now.
