Proposed user fees for aviation would destroy what little is left for small aircraft owners.

Air Traffic Control User fees have been proposed for all users. If you had to pay user fees for a bridge as you cross it, you might not be able to do it if the fees were exorbitant. $100 to cross a bridge is nuts to a small aircraft owner. This will cause people to avoid talking to Air Traffic Control when they really should speak to them. It will also totally destroy much of general aviation. We once built 17,000 aircraft per year in the late 1970's; now, we find it difficult to build and sell a tenth of those aircraft. Imagine how glider pilots feel when they see this proposal!
