Prosecute any and all persons who have actively participated in the authorization of a forty-eight hour hold as described by the Birmingham Division if the F.B.I. in emails correspondence with a Mr. Cates.

Mr. Cates,
The 48 hour hold applies to any person of interest in an investigation. By law, you can be detained, or held, for 48 hours without having to be given Miranda or be charged. After that time, if there is further evidence to warrant an investigation, you can then be given Miranda warning and arrested. If not, then you can be released.
