It is hypocritical for the U.S. to have prosecuted Nazi war criminals and not our own administration for the same crimes of torture and imprisonment without trial.
In addition, the practice is not only in violation of our principles of Democracy and the Geneva Convention that we have supported, but impractical.
No real intelligence was gathered as a result of the use of torture by the Bush administration as stated in the recent Senate 6000 page report on the actions of the CIA and the administration.
The use of torture has been a stain on our moral code, our relations with our allies, and an affront to all good things about America. It must not happen again and prosecution of those involved will serve notice to future administrations.
