Some people in our government have said that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the suspect in the Boston Marathon Bombing, should be declared an enemy combatant. We reject this suggestion in the strongest possible terms.
The United States is a nation under the rule of law. Our court system is more than capable of prosecuting an American citizen accused of committing a crime on American soil.
We ask for this to preserve due process and the rule of law. If this suspect were declared an enemy combatant, it would set a terrifying precedent for the future of our our nation.
Keep our nation safe and maintain our strong tradition of due process even for suspects accused of terrible crimes. Prosecute Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in the US Court system with all the rights due to any defendent under the Constitution
