Not prosecuting elite politicians out of respect for their office actually has the effect of sullying these offices, undermining confidence in our legal system, and is a setback for our democracy. There is now precedent for government officials to abuse their power for political purposes without fear of repercussion. Crimes: 1) Identification of Valerie Plame Wilson as a covert CIA officer. 2) The use of torture at Abu Ghraib & suspension of the Geneva Conventions 3) Destruction of CIA tapes 4) U.S. Attorney firings and hirings violated civil-service laws 5) Warrantless wiretapping by the NSA.
