The crimes committed by the bankers at HSBC go to the very life-blood of many issues currently confronted by our government - everything from drug abuse, to immigration to gun control to our foreign policies with regards to rogue states and nuclear proliferation.
It is hypocritical to affect an "aura" of attempting to set effective policies in any of these areas, while turning a blind eye to criminals who are benefiting from our loss of blood and treasure, simply because these criminals happen to be wearing suits.
Some banks may, or may not, be "too big to fail". But no banker is too big to held accountable under the rule of law.
