Eric Snowden leaked classified documents to the press about ongoing programs that the government is using to prevent terrorist attacks. He did not raise any complaints to his employers or to Congress or the White House. His disclosures were in direct contravention of the law. It is not in the best interests of the government or the people it represents for individuals to decide unilaterally what classified information should be revealed.
The existing program put no individuals at imminent risk of harm or danger. I applaud the government's actions to use the same technology that our enemies would use to destroy us as a weapon against them.
