We simply ask that the phrase "Justice for all" be honored with this petition. Nearly every American has uttered these words hundreds of times as a part of our Pledge of Allegiance. It is unconscionable and creative of public distrust for there to be made special exceptions to the word "all" when they represent a double standard in the application of Justice to the powerful among us. Immunity from so much as a trial granted from one administration to another may ease power transitions, and may indeed inspire cooperation between political parties, though that still remains to be seen in the Fifth year of this, our current President's office...but, more vitally, it also makes the People lose hope for, and faith in our country as a model of human decency. No one should be above the law.
