This petition is not asking for a sedition act. This petition realizes that all forms of media, groups of persons, or organizations are entitled to their respective opinions. Free speech provisions protect the expression of even the most extreme of opinions or prejudices, so long as they pose no danger to the public or other criminal threat.
However, Fox News has repeatedly and consciously published false statements intended to deceive. This intentional publishing of false statements thus must be classified as libel, a criminal offense.
Therefore, be it resolved that the federal government prosecute Fox News for libel.
