Gun violence in this country is disproportionately occurring in poor gang infested areas of large cities. Gangs are purely terrorist organizations that are funded by their criminal activity. This should not be tolerated. To further restrict gun crime we must enhance or replace the portions of gun laws that would have an impact on illegal activity. The current proposals have addressed legal gun owners and will therefore have little to no impact on illegal activity. Trampling all over the second amendment will do nothing. Enacting much tougher laws on Straw purchases and gun trafficking would have a far greater impact on public safety. Better mental health policies wouldn't hurt either.
