Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade is alleged to have violated US laws by underpaying her nanny, and by lying to the USCIS in obtaining her nanny's visa. This is consistent with how the powerful in India mistreat their domestic help. It appears also that she then caused frivolous lawsuits to be filed in India to harass the maid's family. If true, then this is a great opportunity for the US to demonstrate that quintessential American ideal that no one - no matter how powerful - is above the law. She should be prosecuted to the fullest extent allowed by law.
