Multiple law enforcement agencies in Brazoria County, Texas routinely "shake down" businesses by threatening arrest and prosecution for minor infractions (or protection from arrest and prosecution) in order to obtain security jobs for off duty police officers. When jobs are not given, a pattern of harassment ensues which results in arrests for loosely defined violations such as public intoxication and lewd or immoral behavior. The pattern of harassment includes accosting customers before they enter the establishment and threatening them with arrest, causing them to take their business elsewhere.
Racism, abuse, and disrespect towards civilians exists that includes threatening "repeated anal probing" and assertions of "Fuck the law" (for which I have evidence).
