Prosecute Police Violence Against Standing Rock Water Protectors

Created by T.F. on November 28, 2016

Law enforcement combating the Standing Rock water protectors' peaceful protest have systematically violated their civil rights by using methods (such as spraying water on protestors in freezing conditions, and firing rubber bullets and concussion grenades) that are inhumane and reminiscent of tactics used by Bull Conner 50 years ago. President Obama, you have the power under 42 USC 14141 to order the DoJ to bring federal charges against perpetrators of this criminal behavior. You also have the power to do as your predecessors did and send in the National Guard to ensure the safety and right to protest of the Standing Rock water protectors. As Commander in Chief, you can order the COE to allow the protest to continue. Please act swiftly to do all this and reroute DAPL. Time is short.
