President Obama has the executive authority and responsibility to tell the Department of Justice to prosecute torturers and close detention facilities such as the one at Guantanamo Bay. The United States has a moral imperative. It does not torture and it does not operate prison camps. President Obama refused to do either of these things. Thus, he betrayed justice; betrayed those who elected him; and betrayed the United States.
Restore justice and habeas corpus: prosecute torture and end detention camps. This is the President's job and his responsibility to history. When future generations look back, they must see that those who tortured did not get away with it on a line about 'looking forward and not back,' they must see that justice was sought when evil operated freely in our name.
