Protect the 1st Amendment: Drop charges against journalists reporting on North Dakota pipeline protests

Created by J.E. on October 16, 2016

The state of North Dakota has recently charged multiple journalists with crimes -- even felonies carrying the potential decades-long sentences -- for their presence at the North Dakota Access Pipeline protests. This is a clear and flagrant violation of the constitutional principles of freedom of the press and freedom of speech, and cannot be tolerated in a free country.

We demand that North Dakota officials immediately drop the charges against journalists, and that the Obama administration condemn their actions and initiate a DOJ investigation into these unlawful arrests.
