The wild horse has long been a symbol of freedom. Sadly, U.S. wild horses have been rounded up and are being kept in holding facilities in order to protect the land and keep the horses out of the way of the BLM. In addition to this current roundup scenario, there is the possibilty that these horses will be euthanized. If this happened, it would make the U.S. the top horse killer in the world.
We propose that the government create wild horse sanctuaries where these horses can have their freedom within safe borders and still be adopted out when possible. Perhaps gift some horses to native reservations. Perhaps employ veterans to care for them on gov ranches. We believe there is a solution, and the U.S. would do right to provide safe keeping for these treasured animals.
