Protect American's rights to carry firearms outside the home and in public access to businesses.

The 2nd amendment was created to allow for all American's to protect themselves, both in and outside of the home. It is time for the states to recognize that that American's dont give up this fundamental right just because they leave their homes and walk or drive on the public streets and in public accessable businesses. The courts have already recognized some limited area's that citizens may not carry, but there is no reason for certain states to completely ban the lawful carrying of firearms by the lawabiding citizens. Blanket gun bans should be opposed by the Administration, including the so called "assault weapon" ban of simple semiautomatic rifles that simply "look" like an assault rifle but are no different than other common semiautomatic rifles.
