In response to the push for more gun control in the wake of the Newtown school shooting, we demand that you affirm the right to keep and bear arms for competent, law-abiding citizens of the United States as guaranteed in the Second Amendment. Furthermore, in the instance of a citizen losing their gun rights due to a curable mental health issue, (such as depression and suicide) ensure that there are reasonable and affordable means to restore gun rights when a doctor deems the citizen to be stable and safe, with normal mental abilities and functions restored.
