Current law requires Durable Medical Equipment Suppliers (DME) in many metropolitan statistical areas to participate in the Medicare National Competitive Bidding Program. This program is flawed in the eyes of many leading economist who consider it unsustainable in it's current format.
We believe:
Current law should be repealed.
A budget neutral program may be instituted which will not eliminate providers therefore preventing monopolies in any given area.
Service levels will be significantly harmed by reduction of providers.
Lives of Medicare recipients will be endangered.
