Protect and preserve the wall separating church and state by revoking the national motto "in god we trust."

Created by J.D. on December 28, 2012

Recognize the fact that this nation is culturally diverse, and that the citizens of this country do not all follow or hold the same religious beliefs to be true. The motto "in god we trust" is presuppositional, granting a false credence to the idea that every American is subject to believe in the same intangible deity and the same religious beliefs, and is also in violation to the first amendment of the U.S. constitution. The national motto should be changed to reflect the fact this nation is made up of believers of many faiths and non-believers alike, and that we are all part of the make up of this great country. I propose that the national motto "e pluribus unum" should be reinstated and that change be recognized and adhered to by congress.
