As we enter a courthouse, government building or airport, we must go though rigorous security screenings including, but not limited to, metal detectors, metal scans, pat downs and x-rays and searches of all personal belongings being carried into the premises. However, when entering a public school, more times than not, you either ring a buzzer for the office attendant to unlock the door or you simply walk in. In most cases, the only security measure for these "visitors" entering the school is to sign your name to a clipboard and maybe receive a visitor sticker. Why are our politicians and government officials worth protecting more than the youth of our nation? We petition to have the same security measures put in place in every school across the nation as there are in government buildings.
