Since March of 2011, the people of Syria began to rise up in peaceful demonstration against the authoritarian government of Bashar al-Assad and his policies. Initially demanding government reform; al-Assad responded violently, initiating a campaign of terror against his people using machine guns, tanks and helicopters. In the time over 13,000 innocent men, women and children have been murdered in the President's ruthless campaign.
The internation response has been little more than words of condemnation and solidarity with the victims, doing little more than permitting these crimes to continue. The United States has a moral imperative to stop genocide and ensure the freedom of liberty loving people everywhere. Please sign this petition and tell Obama to establish a no-fly zone in Syria!
