We are concerned about several events in recent weeks that threaten the rights of individuals and localities to protect their communities from environmental degradation: 1) the decision by the state of Wyoming to ban citizen science, and 2) the decision by the state of Texas to strip localities of the power to impose limits on the oil and gas industry relating to fracking.
Localities require the ability to monitor their natural resources and protect themselves from imposing threats. Please do all that is in your power to make sure that the rights of communities are protected, restored, and even enhanced so that they can address present and future natural resource issues.
