protect the citizens of this country from the use of excessive and deadly force from its own police.

Created by S.H. on October 09, 2014

We, as a people, categorically reject that because police officers work a dangerous job, that we should tolerate incidences of use of excessive and deadly force by the police without seeking prosecution in a criminal court. This is very similar to the reasoning that football is a violent sport, and therefore society should tolerate violence from football players. Specifically we are requesting the following:
Federal prosecution of officers involved in cases where use of force is deemed excessive, with similar punishments to private citizens convicted of same use of force.
Federally mandated training for all police officers which rejects the notion that feeling threatened gives an officer a right to use deadly force.
Federal law passed restricting use of force to much stricter guidelines
